Susan Holtz, MS, NCC, LPC
Susan Holtz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (#10573) through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. Susan earned her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
Susan offers several years of mental health experience (one to one mental health counseling and intensive in-home therapy) working providing group therapy, family counseling, and individual outpatient therapy. Populations include children, adolescents, adults, family and couples. She has worked in a variety of settings including homes, schools, and in private practice setting. Susan specializes in clients manage severe mental health symptoms such as depression, trauma, anxiety, impulsivity, defiance, anger/aggression, social/relationship problems, communication problems, mood disturbances, self-esteem and trauma.
Susan is currently trained in Heart Centered Hypnotherapy through the Wellness Institute. Hypnotherapy is an evidence based intervention for treatment in areas of addictions treatment, habit management, and the treatment of anxiety, trauma, fears, phobias, depression, and PTSD. Additionally, Susan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is trauma focused therapy. She has an orientation consisting of both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy.
Susan believes in a strong, genuine therapeutic alliance between client and therapist and is committed to helping the individual or couple overcome their struggles and issues.
